Today in class we talked about how our bodies handle risk. Describe the processes of fight and flight and use a personal example from your life for both fight and flight. Make sure you describe the biological processes that occur in each stage. Please keep your examples appropriate!!!!
Yesterday in class we learned about fight and flight. Some people crave the adrenaline their bodies put out when confronted with a risk or daring situation where they would have to use the fight or flight instict. For example, the woman that backed over her kid used "fight" to lift the car and free the child. Her adrenaline gave her this incredible amount of strength out of no where to accomplish the task. An example for flight would be if a kid were to get kidnapped and had the chance to get away, his adrenaline would also kick in and give him a huge burst of speed so that he could out run the kidnapper and get to safety.
ReplyDeleteFight or flight becomes present when a person is confronted with an danger, and either they confront the danger or run away. Every human's idea or risk of danger is different. This is why some people engage in dangerous activities, to get the adrenaline rush. For example, some people run of the side of cliffs all because their addiction to adrenaline. some people may not go that extreme, they may just do bike tricks or skydiving. An example of fight or flight can also be psychological. For ex, you could have a real fear of speaking in front of people and at the moment you have to. you can either face the crowd and talk or run away from the crowd.
ReplyDeleteFight or flight is how are body reacts when faced with a risk. In class we watched how people are addicted to getting adrenaline rushes. Many peoples bodies become addicted to it and crave it all the time. We can either chose to run away from it or go with the risk. One example for me is that I am deathly afraid of snakes and whenever i see one I get extremely scared and run from it.
ReplyDeleteYesterday in class we talked about Flight and fight. Fight or flight basically the idea that if an emergency situation is present you have 2 choices. 1. To say and fight. 2. TO leave and not fight. When this occurs, the body is rushed with adrenaline. The adrenaline make you stronger that you are. For example the kid to got ran over. His mother experience the fight or flight moment. In her case, she chose to stay and fight. All the adrenaline in her body enabled her to lift up the car so that someone can pull her child out.
ReplyDeletePersonal an example for me is, a attack. I was walking one day in my old neighborhood, out of no where this hispanic guy chop me in the neck with a stick. At the time I didnt know the guy so my flight or fight response kicked in. I choose flight due to the fact that he had an hispanic gang behind him. Later on I found out that my friend has set me up for that, He thought it would be funny if i fought back but i didnt.
Fight or Flight occurs during a time of danger or crisis when one’s adrenal glands begin to pump adrenaline into their system and they have to quickly decide their reaction to the situation. Whether you fight, take the situation head on, or flight, flee from the situation, is a psychological battle. An instance that I might use these reaction techniques is when I am walking down the hallway and see someone I do not necessarily like or get along with. I instantly have to decide if I am going to look at them, say hi and smile(fight), or pull out my phone and pretend to text ignoring them (flight). Although this example might seem basic, it is a simple way to understand the psychological reaction in times of crisis, “fight or flight”.
ReplyDeleteIn class we learned about fight or flight. This is taling about what happens with you body and what you choose to do when you are put in a bad or scarey situation. If you choose to "fight" in a situation your body recieves large rushes of adrenaline which enables you to do things like lift cars off children or being able to run super fast when in a bad situation. I can't think of a particular situation in which this has happened to me but i think if someone was to put my family in some kind of danger I would use the "fight" tactic.
ReplyDeleteFight or Flight is a term used for how people react to a certain event. When something happens you have a decision to either stay and face the situation or run from it. When someone sees danger or a crisis they have adrenaline pumped into their system. An example of Fight is whenever I am playing basketball and somebody scores on me I want to go and score on them to show that I am not going to back down. An example of Flight would be if I see lightning on the golf course I get off the golf course as quick as possible. When adrenaline gets into you it gets you pumped up and makes you do things that you could not normally do. Everyone must make the choice to stay and fight of run away from the event.
ReplyDeleteFight or flight is an instant when your body has a decision to make during a risky, or an uncomfortable situation. It is a rush of adrenaline and either you can use that rush by fighting through the situation, or you can use it to flee from it. For some people, the fight or flight feeling, is an addiction. They thrive off the adrenaline rush that they get when they put themselves in danger. People’s definition of risk or danger is different form each others though. For some people, just walking across the street is a flight or fight feeling. But for those other people, they don’t get that rush until they jump off of a massive cliff. An example of Fight or Flight for me is when I play softball. When I am playing third, and a ball is hit hard to me, my first instinct is to back off and get away from the ball. I have had to train myself thought to fight and stay in front of the ball even thought it might hurt, so that I can make the play. For some people that would be minor, but for others that have not played the sport is a major fight or flight risk.
ReplyDeleteFight or Flight occurs when your body senses danger. When your body feels danger, it releases the "drug" adrenaline. Some people become addicted to this adrenaline rush, and crave for something dangerous. Such as base-jumping. When you base-jump, you are relying on your judgement on time, and on your parachute. You must be able to tell when you should let out the parachute, if you are lucky enough that it even releases. Some people want this feeling, and crave this feeling so bad that they do this with their lives. They are "professionals", the trainers of the brave people who do it once. Fight or flight is not only the feeling of craving to do something, but also running from it. You feel your life in danger because someone seems to be stalking you as you walk down the road. Your heart starts to skip, and is beating faster then normal and you just want to run. Most people would run. This is also adrenaline being rushed through your body. The adrenaline is giving you strength to do something you wouldn't normally be able to do, like take off into your fastest sprint for longer than a few seconds. For example, I love scary movies. They excite me, and I could watch them all day. The adrenaline I receive from scaring myself, and knowing that it's all just a movie, makes it fun for me. But, I don't like haunted houses. I get really excited before I go in and the adrenaline is rushing through because I know I'm purposely scaring myself, just like with the movies. As the line shortens and I get closer to entering, I get really scared and the adrenaline rushes through my body and what I really want is to get away and not go in. I want to save myself from the actual house that I'm about to walk into, it's no longer just on t.v., and that excites my adrenaline into a "flight" circumstance, and away from the "fight" idea.
ReplyDeleteEveryone in the world is born with "Fight or Flight". Fight or flight is your bodies way to handle with certain stressful situations, your body will either endure the situation or run away from it. What causes your body to do this? The Adrenal Glands located in your kidneys secrete a chemical called adrenaline, and during a stressful situation adrenaline gets pumped into your body which triggers your "fight or flight" response. When I was 8 me and my family went to a haunted house in huntersville, before we got there I was very excited to go and as we pulled up I began to get scared. My uncle was telling me that I was too scared to go in so at this time my "fight or flight" responses kicked in and I went in the haunted house. I was scared the whole way through but even though I was scared I didnt run away from the challenge I endured it. Another experience of mine I was in the 8th grade and there was a point during the year were I was in a situation where I was about to be in a fight with 3 guys. Instead of attempting to fight these guys because I knew that would have been a bad choice I ran as fast as I could, my "fight or flight' told me that I was in a bad situation and I needed to get out so I ran. "Fight or Flight" is helpful in many situations and without it some people would not be where they are now without it.
ReplyDeleteToday in class we learned about fight or flight. Fight of flight means when somebody is in a hard position, they either stay and fight through what they are going through or flight and just runaway. An example for me is when i attended Garinger there was a shootout at homecoming. All my family and friends were there and i was supporting my friend who played football. When the shoot out happen everybody ran, i did not know if i should run and protect myself or wait to see if my friend would be okay. At the end of the day i decided to stay to make sure my friend was okay even though there were people shooting people
